Day of Silence

Saturday, March 19, 2016

Living in a country with so many diverse culture, people, and backgrounds. I embrace national public holiday the most. All photos taken straight from the phone camera while strolling around the city during Nyepi holiday.

Well, the mandatory day of silence didn't really affect us who live in Jakarta.
So the least I can do was making the best out of it. We tried probably one of the best Indian restaurant, went to see a photo exhibition, hanging out at the park, and ended our day off watching a movie screening from Thailand. It was pretty much a good day with Yosephine, Dini, and April.

Pura Tirta Empul on film

Sunday, March 13, 2016

Sharing some photos taken with film while visiting Pura Tirta Empul in Gianyar, Bali. Long before my second visit to that sacred place, I still remember vividly how beautiful it was during a trip with my high school friends back in 2011. I never really knew Bali back at that time, and it's just wonderful how different your perspective can be when you go back to the same place after more than 5 years.

One thing that still felt the same was while looking at one particular pond with nothing but clear water and moss floating on the surface feeling so peaceful. Local people regularly visit this temple to pray, give thanks, and put share their offerings. It's really important for me personally to pay another visit to Tirta Empul simply to be reminded that simple things like saying gratitude to mother earth matter.
